I took a picture of my son dressed as a Jedi and used Photoshop to place his image in an original Star Wars movie poster. I would like to have the poster printed for him, but I think any print shop will reject the image due to the copyrighted characters on the image.

Can you explain the general guidelines regarding copyright, parody, and personal use?

Has writing always come natural to you or have you struggled with it?

Kat indicated that you have experience in ad copy, web copy, PR copy and catalog copy.

Which do you prefer?

Do you find one to be more effective than another?

What are some of the changes you would need to make to adapt something from one form to another, for example to switch from ad copy to web copy?

Hi Laurie, thanks for coming to speak to our class. Here are a few questions I have:

1. Have you found it easier, or more rewarding to write copy for a particular product/event/organization/etc? Or is all copy roughly the same?

2. When writing copy, are you more influenced by the product you are advertising, or the audience you are selling to? How does this affect how you write?

3. With the increasing influence of nontraditional marketing techniques (especially via the internet), what do you think the advertising industry will look like in 50 years?

John already asked you what your educational background is, but I am curious about your degree and any previous jobs you have had in this area?

I would like to know the basic facts about this job (from your experience), did you specifically apply for this job, or did you fall into it?

Can you explain the difference between copyright, trademark and patents?

If your company patents some of your parts. Are you involved in patenting any of the lighting and house parts?

Since your company "recreates" designs, Do you deal with current and/or expired patents that your company has to deal with and ask permission to recreate?
